Parts of a Refrigerator
There aren’t many homes that don’t have a refrigerator in the kitchen. It’s been a must-own kitchen appliance for many years. A refrigerator is able to store your food and drinks at the best temperature, in order to prevent rotting and slow down harmful bacteria. The cycle of refrigeration starts by distributing the heat from inside of the appliance to the exterior, using principles of condensation and evaporation.
The main components of a refrigerator are below. For questions or service call Yates Appliance Repair:
Compressor
The compressor is both a pump and motor, and it’s necessary for circulation of refrigerant throughout the cooling system.
The compressor is a very important piece of a refrigerator. Homeowners should call a professional service if the compressor is broken.
Condenser
A refrigerator condenser is attached on the rear exterior panel of the refrigerator and helps to emit the heat absorbed within the refrigerator out in the air.
Evaporator
The refrigerator evaporator is attached on the interior of a refrigerator where absorbs heat contained within it, effectively lowering the temperature inside the unit.
The moment the evaporator stops working, it’s time to hire a professional. You should not wait too long.
Expansion Device
Liquified coolant is directed within a capillary tube that serves as an expansion device to cool the gas, turning it into liquid.
Thermostat
A thermostat regulates the temperature throughout a refrigerator, beginning the cooling period as required.
The thermostat in a refrigerator is prone to breaking. Troubleshoot and hire a repairman in CITY for repair right when an issue occurs.
How Does Refrigeration Work?
1. When the temperature within a refrigerator goes above the set point sensors notify the refrigerator compressor to engage, and then the cool down starts. The unit attracts the cold liquified refrigerant, pressurizes and condenses the liquid, and increases the temperature, turning it into a gas.
2. The refrigerator compressor pushes the warm gas in the direction of the refrigerator condenser coils on the rear of the unit, at which point it comes in contact with warmer air temperature in the room and transforms back to a liquid state.
3. The cool liquified gas then continues on its trip towards the evaporator component, pushing through the many coils in the interior of the appliance and freezer compartment.
4. The coolant absorbs the warm air from inside the appliance, thereby lowering the temperature back to the desired final point.
5. The refrigerant then will evaporate, and will return back to a gas form, and returns to the refrigerator compressor to then continue the cycle.
Refrigeration technology is often used in a lot of applications and large appliances, including heat pumps, air conditioners, refrigerators and freezers. By contracting warmth from one place and then moving it to somewhere else the cycle of refrigeration helps cooling a home, provides a safe space for perishable food, and helps with the manufacturing and storage of several different everyday products and materials.
